The Mainstream Media Is Biased Against Catholics

The Media Is Not Our Friend

I have already written about how the mainstream media are liars before.

In addition to being liars, the media is also hostile towards orthodox Catholics.

I have to stress the word “orthodox” because the media is friendly towards “Catholics” that accept “woke” ideology.

What I mean by this is, if you are pro-homo, pro-trans, or pro-abortion, or pro-sexual degeneracy, then they are cool with you.

However, as I have written before, Catholicism rejects homosexuality, transgenderism, contraception, and abortion, amongst other things.

So if you merely profess what the Catholic Church has always taught, they consider you a public enemy.

They use orthodox Catholic beliefs to make us the bad guy, and simultaneously try to get the heretics to leave the Church:

Anti Catholic Media Ad
Real Ad Placed In New York Times

In the following sections, I will prove this assertion by using examples of anti-Catholic media bias.

I will also go over how the media uses clergy abuse, the Covington Catholic incident, anti-Catholic violence, Catholic Supreme Court nominees, and other things that the media uses to attack Catholicism.

The Media Overstates The Clergy Abuse Problem

First, no one can deny that there have been priests that have sexually abused others.

I just wanted to get that out of the way, since I know people will call me out if I deny this.

However, what is not true is the lie that priests sexually abuse more than the general population.

The infamous John Jay study, conducted in 2004, showed only 4% of Catholic clerics had accusations of abuse.

4% is still too high (it should be 0%) but Catholic priests are sinners, just like the rest of us.

Moreover, juries only convicted 6% of those 4% of priests.

This means juries have only convicted around 0.24% clergy members for sexual abuse.

That’s still more than the ideal of 0%, but that’s not really a significant number of clergy.

This low conviction rate also means that it is likely that many accusers are lying.

Also, the media acts like this is still a big problem, when the studies show that the problem is actually going away:

Media Lying About Clergy Abuse

With that out of the way, how does this compare to the general population?

Firstly, married men account for 76% of the people that commit sexual abuse.

And, as we know, most Catholic priests aren’t married.

Also, this refutes the idea that celibacy is the cause of sexual abuse.

Secondly, up to 5% of men in the general population are pedophiles.

Thirdly, sexual abuse by teachers is on the rise, and was up to 7% of all teachers accused in 2017.

Fourthly, sexual abuse in Jewish communities is 4 times as much as the general population.

So all of these numbers are higher than the amount of priests convicted of sexual abuse.

Then why don’t we ever hear about them? Obviously, it is because the media has bias against Catholics.

The Media Slandered A Catholic Kid In 2019

In January of 2019, the media slandered a boy named Nick Sandmann, making it seem like he was bullying a Native American man.

This was one of the key events that really started me on the path of realization that the media hates Catholics.

The fact that Nick was white, male, pro-life, and wore a MAGA hat, in addition to being Catholic, made him the perfect target for the hateful media.

The media, celebrities and “woke” politicians ubiquitously slandered him for the whole weekend.

They called for doxxing him and even made remarks like he had a “punchable face.”

The Washington Post, Vogue, The New York Times, CNN, NBC, and others slandered Sandmann.

It was all because one craftily edited video made the young Catholic boys look like bullies.

And then the rest of the evidence came out.

By the next week, copious amounts of videos and testimonies came out showing that the “woke” narrative was a complete lie.

As it turns out, instead of bullying the Native American man, Nick was just standing his ground, awkwardly smiling, while the man beat a drum and got in his face.

The media still tried to keep their false narrative going, but at some point it just looked pathetic.

They had to retract and modify some of their hit pieces to show the facts, but the damage was done.

Thank God the truth was able to get out and Nick Sandmann got his justice.

The Media Underreports And Distorts Violence Against Catholics

The media loves to talk about how Catholics are the oppressors but tends to shy away when Catholics are the oppressed.

Did you know that in the past couple of weeks that baby killers vandalized churches all over the US?

You wouldn’t know that if you just watch CNN, NBC, ABC, or read The New York Times or The Washington Post.

That’s because it goes against their pro-murder narrative, and they want baby murder to stay legal.

On the other hand, Catholic and conservative media outlets reported it because they support the pro-life narrative.

But as we should know, Catholic and conservative media outlets are the minority.

A Harvard study proved this was the case, and this was even before “woke” politics exploded!

And when the mainstream media does report about violent acts towards Catholics, an anti-Catholic spin is put on the news.

For instance, when “woke” insurgents tore down the statue of St. Junipero Serra, the media lauded the act by slandering the Saint as being “racist.”

Media Vandalization St. Junipero Serra Statue

The media did report the fire that burned down the great Notre Dame Cathedral (probably because it was too big to not cover).

However, the fact that arsonists burned down several other churches in France was underreported.

And then, of course, when Catholics on the internet proved that arsonists burned down many churches in France, the media used this to label them as “conspiracy theorists.”

Of course, anybody that has good pattern recognition skills and uses logic and reason is a “conspiracy theorist,” so that’s actually a complement!

So, in other words, the media either underreports anti-Catholic violence or uses Catholic outrage to slander us.

The Media Slanders Catholic Supreme Court Nominees

The media has bias against Catholic Supreme Court nominees.

For instance, when Trump nominated Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, the media unleashed slanderous sexual assault accusations against Kavanaugh.

Christine Blasey Ford released a piece in The Washington Post accusing Kavanaugh of sexual assaulting her.

Deborah Ramirez then accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her in The New Yorker.

Julie Swetnick was the third woman that came forward with with accusations in The New York Times and Vox.

A fourth woman named Judy Munro-Leighton made an accusation, but thankfully recanted it before the media ran with it.

On top of this, Anita Hill (who accused Catholic Justice Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment) also wrote an op-ed against Kavanaugh.

Ramirez and Swetnick eventually retracted their allegations. Christine Blasey Ford did not.

However, there was not enough evidence to keep Kavanaugh off the bench.

Unfortunately, Kavanaugh’s name is forever slandered by all of these accusations.

Catholic Supreme Court nominee, Amy Coney Barrett, was also slandered by the media.

Outlets, such as The Guardian, focused on slandering her ability to judge based on her Catholic beliefs.

Of course, now, with the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the media is slandering all the pro-life Catholic Supreme Court justices.

They Will Shut Us Down For Contradicting The Woke Narrative

Finally, I want to use an example of what recently happened to me, in order to show what the media will do if you dissent from the “woke” narrative.

Recently, I decided to publish my articles on Medium.com in this new Catholicism For The Modern World publication.

In less than a week, Medium banned me from their website.

They sent me an email saying that I violated their rule against “Hateful content”:

When I responded and asked about which articles broke their rules, they just responded that their decision was final, and never told me which articles broke the rules.

If I had to guess, I would say one of my articles that explain the Catholic teaching on feminism, GayQ, genderbenderism, and/or contraception were the culprit(s).

Those articles all attack the “woke” narrative.

However, it is clear to anyone that actually reads those articles that I never promote hatred towards anyone that holds those views.

I have learned that most people just read the titles of my articles before completely judging my position, at this point, though.

What bothers me more than getting cancelled is the fact that they allow anti-Catholic slander on their site.

If you didn’t read their own rules against “Hateful content” the first time, read it again.

It says that they are against “Hateful content” against people based on religion:

And regarding the anti-Catholic slander that they allow, let’s look at a few of these titles:

Medium Anti-Catholic

“There’s Another Skeleton in the Catholic Church’s Closet.”

“Misogyny Is the Catholic Church’s Original Sin.”

“The Roman Catholic Church Raped My Family.”

“Catholic School Opens Nudity Door.”

Those all sound like titles of “Hateful content” towards Catholics to me.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the media hates orthodox Catholics. They are not our friend.

They want to ally with heretics and pull them out of our Church.

Also, they exaggerate the clerical abuse issue to make people think we are hypocrites.

They slandered a kid, just because he was a white, Catholic boy with a MAGA hat.

When bad things happen to us, they downplay it, if they even report it at all.

Moreover, if they can, they twist the facts to make us the bad guy, when we get attacked.

They want to prevent us from having political influence, unless we are “woke” heretics, like Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi.

Finally, if all else fails, they shut us down, even making themselves look like hypocrites in doing so.

There are many more examples I could use to show how the media hates us.

Perhaps I will do so in a future article?

But at the end of the day, it does nothing more than validate our Faith as the True Faith.

Because, as Christ Himself says: “If the world hate you, know ye, that it hath hated me before you.” (John 15:18).
